Greetings ALSSAMT member,
I hope that everyone is doing well in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to those of you that have lost loved ones and who has been directly affected by this virus. Thank you to all of my members and colleagues for the work that you are doing to fight this deadly disease as we are all on the frontline and I truly appreciate everyone for what they do.
Unfortunately, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic AMT has decided for the safety of the staff and members to cancel the Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico July 13-17, 2020. Congratulations to all of the award winner for this year. Those awards will be presented at next year’s Annual Meeting that will be held July 19-23, 2021 in Norfolk, Virginia. If you are interested in being a delegate and would like some more information, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. It is a great way to connect with colleagues and earn continuing education credits (CEU’s).
Magnolia Educational Treasurer (MET) which was planned for October 2-3, 2020 in Louisville has also been canceled due to COVID-19 and we are looking at a 2022 meeting in Louisville. I will let you know as information becomes available. The ALSSAMT business and board meeting was scheduled to be held during the time of the MET. I will let you know as soon as we decide how the board and business meeting will be held.
As you all know, everything is becoming virtual in these times. If you have any suggestions on how you would like to network feel free to email me. I will be happy to set something up where you can connect virtually with your state society and be actively involved. One of the best ways is to virtually connect is through the AMT online communities at https://community.americanmedtech.org
As all of this year’s meetings have been canceled, we won’t have any pictures to put in the ALATECH so if you would like to submit picture of you and/or your colleagues hard at work or just a picture of a landmark that you might think will go great for a front or back cover, we will be glad to publish those. You may submit those photos to email@example.com. Note: No professional photos and no photos of patients.
If you or anyone you know has an article or story that you would like to include, please submit them to me by November 1, 2020 for my review. We need references as to where you received the information.
I look forward to hearing from you all soon and hope that you all stay safe.
