Hope you are staying healthy and following recommended guidelines, thus making our essential workers job less stressful. We try to keep this site with information about the state society.

State societies have curtailed their activities because of the virus and the future for meetings are uncertain. Please check the web site as to future activities for the state. We will update the site notifying members of changes to future events.

Join me is celebrating RPT recognition week February 12-19, 2021. Phlebotomists have a vital role in starting the process in obtaining test results. As essential workers within health care. we salute you. Thank you for all you do.

You should have received a notice from AMT Home office that the annual education and business meeting in July at Norfolk Virginia will be a virtual meeting. This is an excellent opportunity for you to obtain continuing education credits for your discipline. Watch your emails for more information as it becomes available.

As a reminder, the following are our board members for AMT; President is Jeanette Hobson; Vice-President is Ken Hawker; Secretary is Marty Hinkel and Treasurer is Deborah Westervelt.

Because of the COVID virus please watch for any changes to our scheduled state society meetings this year. With the restrictions in place these dates could change or be cancelled. Our state society Spring meeting is tentative scheduled for April 24, 2021 and the Fall meeting is tentative scheduled for October 24, 2021. Both meetings are scheduled for Pima Medical Institute – West in Albuquerque. During our lunch period, lunch provided, we will discuss the business of our state society. As a member of our state society, you have an equal voice in the running of our state. Please plan on attending and adding your voice during our meeting.

I would like to thank Pima Medical Institute and their instructors Lisa Gabaldon and Florentino Castillo for assisting in putting our meetings together. It is with her help that we obtain a location for us to hold our meetings. Thanks much.

I look forward to hearing from our members and if you have any suggestions on improving our web site, please let me know. Hope to see you at our meetings.
