Kelsey Schultz, RMA
"Being a Registered Medical Assistant is more than a career choice -- it's a life choice," says AMT-certified RMA Kelsey Schultz. Inspired by her grandmother's constant care for others, Kelsey carries her passion for helping people through all aspects of her life. She says staying after hours with patients or spending time at home making charts and spreadsheets are extra tasks she is happy to do.
At ZipClinic in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Kelsey occasionally provides care to refugee families and draws inspiration from their stories of tenacity and bravery. Kelsey recalls a family who fled their country's instability and required medical attention. Their optimistic attitude moved her. "They didn't let any circumstances hold them back, and always had a smile. I find that inspiring," she said.
Kelsey says that no matter what any outside circumstances may be, she treats every patient as if they were a member of her own family. Her AMT certification gives her confidence to continue to provide each patient with the best possible care.

Kelsey enjoys meeting people of different cultures and, despite some language barriers, always makes sure her attitude is kind and understanding. Kelsey uses humor to relate to patients and works her hardest to ensure they are at ease.
Kelsey wants to continue helping families and hopes to extend her career into clinical management. Outside of the clinic, she loves to spend time with her daughter. Kelsey says that when she sees her daughter playing with her stethoscope and her daughter says she wants to be just like her, Kelsey knows she has made the right career choice.
