flair. We will again have the state baskets give-away. The baskets will be raffled in three
stages during the party. There will also be two drink tickets provided to each attendee
of age and they can be used during the entire evening. Come reconnect with old friends
and make some new ones!

Since my last message your Board of Directors has met for their spring meeting. The
meeting was held in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. The Board continues to be a dedicated,
hardworking team always looking to better AMT. Some highlights of the meeting:
• National AMT award winners were selected. Congratulations to all the award
recipients. I am always in awe of the continued dedication of our AMT members.
Come to the awards convocation and congratulate them all!
• The new agreement has been signed between AMT and CASMET. We look forward
to our continued relationship with our CASMET members.
• A policy developed by our Council regarding internet and email policy was approved.
This policy has been sent to all state society presidents. If you are on the Board of
a state society your president will advise you regarding this policy.
• The annual Laboratory Legislative Symposium and Hill Visit was March 18–19, 2019
in Washington DC. AMT again had good participation in this event.
• AMT is in the process of searching for a new Public Member for the Board. At present
there are three candidates. We will have to bid farewell to our current Public Member,
Carole Aston, in July. Carole has been a valuable member of the Board, always
bringing the perspective of the “public.” Thank you, Carole!

• The Board is already working on the 2020 Convention. We are back to the west for
2020. The dates are July 13–17, 2020, at the Hyatt Albuquerque, Albuquerque, New
Mexico. Put it on your calendars now!
