President’s Comments
Warm greetings to my AMT family!
The national meeting this July in Chicago will be AMT’s 81st
National Convention. What an amazing statistic. 2019 is also AMT’s
80th anniversary. This year’s convention is shaping up to be one of

are up to 13 CEU hours that you can obtain. The breakout sessions
this year will be labeled as “tracks.” The tracks include: Laboratory,
Medical Assisting, Leader and Professional Development, and Other

• 2 Other Allied Health Sessions
In addition, there will be two workshops offered during the week

• Antibody Identification (Tuesday, July 2)
• Red Cell Morphology: Learn for the Fun of It! (Wednesday,
July 3)
Each workshop will be offered during the regular breakout

labeled by tracks, members may attend any of the sessions. I would
encourage you to step outside the box and take in a session that is
not in your track. We are all allied health professionals who work
as a team to help the provider give excellent care to our patients.

convention. We are also trying something new this year with this
event. Tables will be set aside for each state society. This does not
mean you HAVE to sit at your state’s table, I actually encourage you
to mingle. But it does mean that you can have a seat with others
from your state, if you wish. There will be four food stations that
will all be serving the same food so you do not need to go from one
station to another. The food will be heavy appetizers with a Chicago
