The North Carolina State Society of American Medical Technologists (NCSSAMT) invites you to become active in our professional organization. Below is some key information and activities that will assist you to become involved in continuing education and networking opportunities.
The North Carolina State Society has 3633 members as of 11/1/16, most of whom are MTs, MLTs, RMAs, and RPTs. Please make sure you keep all membership information up to date with AMT so that you may receive information and notifications concerning continuing educational opportunities and society business meetings. I encourage each member to join us for these continuing educational sessions; they include presentations that are geared toward your educational needs. They are normally held twice a year in the spring (Carolinas Clinical Connection) and in the fall (Fall Focus) with our sister organization, the North Carolina Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (NCSCLS). The meeting information is posted on the AMT NC State Society website (meetings and events) so that you can make plans in advance to attend.
Our spring educational seminar, Carolina’s Clinical Connection 2017 will be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Wednesday March 29th through Friday March 31st 2017 in conjunction with NCSCLS, SCSCLS and SCSSAMT organizations at Double Tree Resort by Hilton. Please watch our website for upcoming information on this seminar for registration information. NCSSAMT Student Writing Awards will be presented during this event. The AMT 79th Education Program and National Meeting will be held July 9-13, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri at the Intercontinental Hotel. Our state delegates will be attending and some of our state members will be receiving national awards!
Focus 2016 was held at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC on October 22, 2016. We had a record number of attendees including 9 South Carolina AMT members, thank you for attending. Our NCSSAMT Fall Business and Board of Director’s meetings were held during Fall Focus; the business meeting was held during lunch on Saturday during which new officers were elected. The Fall Focus planning committee invites you to attend next year! Updates on the date and location will be here soon.
AMT partnered with the American Kidney Fund (AKF) to increase the awareness of chronic kidney disease affecting 31 million Americans. This partnership will focus on the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease across the nation. Stay tuned for upcoming events to support this cause.
Our award-winning newsletter “The Tarheel Tech” is published twice a year and features state society news and articles. Please take time to read this publication which is posted on our NC State Society Website. If you have articles or photos that you would like to submit, please forward them to our newsletter editor. We are very proud of our organization and I thank you for visiting our website.
