Within the House of Representatives a memorandum was referred to the Department 0f Health and Human Services to allow clinical laboratories to advertise for diagnostic services for consumer awareness available to them, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, which will amend an outdated laboratory act from 1951. The memorandum submitted by Representative Johnathan D. Hershey in part stated - "… it has never been more important for consumers to be provided with information concerning the availability of diagnostic laboratory testing options available to them".
