Hello everyone! Hopefully this message finds you all well and positively awaiting a promising Spring 2021.
The year 2020 has been labeled as an unprecedented year. It is rightfully so as COVID has cancelled many planned vacations, seminars, conventions and business opportunities. It has caused unemployment and small businesses to shut down. Most of all it has taken many lives and caused many families and the community too much grief. Fortunately, we are surrounded by courageous frontline workers who battle this virus, helping and caring for as many patients as they can. I know that AMT Illinois has members who work in the frontline. When many have been asked to stay home, many of our members have continued to work for the community. Thank you! I on behalf of the board of members of AMT Illinois, thank you for your selfless service.
Now that vaccines are available and distribution is ongoing, we look forward to a brighter 2021. However I still encourage each one of our members to spread the word that masks are still vital and should be worn to protect ourselves and others.
Keeping in mind different safety protocols, AMT Illinois now plans to proceed with some events that were cancelled last year. This year we are tentatively planning on holding our Continuing Education and Business meeting on October 22, 2021. We will send updates through the National office if and when we determine that it is safe to proceed based on CDC guidelines.
Our mission is to promote the National Standards for Allied Health Professionals within the State of Illinois, to provide opportunities to increase medical and technical knowledge for our members, and to support both National and State organizational goals.
