2017 AKF Kidney Action Days and Screening Events

Volunteer at American Kidney Fund (AKF) Kidney Action Days and other screening events!  AMT members can have an impact in the fight against kidney disease. AMT and AKF are working together to increase awareness of this disease through education and screenings, and to raise the profile of AMT and its members. Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs, including: setup, greeting / information, registering screening participants, taking blood pressure, finger stick glucose testing, distributing refreshments, counseling attendees on their test results or engaging with children through fun activities. (Calendar of Events)

You can support this effort by volunteering for one of the kidney screening events in the Washington, DC community during May and June. Some screenings offer blood pressure, finger-stick- glucose or a combination of the two, and health counseling. Each event needs 4 to 6 volunteers. (List of screening events) Please contact Juanita Rogers ( if you are interested.
