Certifying Your Medical Assisting Staff

Certification represents a declaration of a particular individual’s professional competence, both current and ongoing.  In addition to certification, AMT ensures that each certified individual continues to keep current as long as he/she is working in a professional field.  It is to your advantage, and to the advantage of your patients, to promote certification and to support any ongoing maintenance requirements.

If you are interested in certifying your medical assistants, please review our process and eligibility requirements to determine if your medical assistants qualify:

Increase your employees opportunity for success with our study resources:

  • Practice Tests: An excellent tool to help "Prepare for the Exam" with questions designed and written to familiarize yourself with the style and flow of the exam
  • Review Courses: Perfect if you have been out of the classroom for a few years or just wish to review Medical Terminology.

If your employees are paying for their own study resources and applications, please have them do that individually from AMT’s Get Certified page.

If you are purchasing any of the study resources or applications on their behalf, first contact AMT at to obtain an ID# for your institution.
