Planting the Seeds for a New Year
President's Message Fall 2016
If you were unable to attend the Great Lakes District Conference in Frankenmuth Michigan in October or the OSSAMT fall meeting in Troy Ohio, you missed two excellent meetings. Thank you to the state society in Michigan for hosting the Great Lakes District Meeting. I also want to thank Miami-Jacobs Career College in Troy Ohio for allowing us to use their facility for our meeting on November 12th.
One of the things you missed by not being at our meeting in Troy is the annual awards presentation. This year John Gartin was selected as the RMA of the Year. The AHI of the year is Jeanne Marie deMontagnac-Hall. The winner of the Executive Board Award is Patty Kroeger. The last award is the President’s Award. This year I selected Fonda McClain to be the recipient. Congratulations to all of the winners.
Following the seminar and general business meeting in Troy the Executive board met and elected new officers. Your officer’s terms will start on January 1st. Your officers are as follows:
President – Sheryl Scott RMA (AMT)
Vice President – Christopher Williams RMA, AHI (AMT)
Secretary – Alanna Dargartz RMA (AMT)
Treasurer – Shirley Laidley AHI (AMT)
Since I will no longer be your president on January 1st, this will be my last President’s Message. I want to thank all of you for making this a great 4 years and I know you will show Sheryl the same support you have given me. We have made a lot of changes over the past four years and knowing Sheryl and the rest of the board members as I do you can look forward to some great things in the future.
Speaking of the future. Our next seminar is scheduled for April 8th at Sinclair Community College in Mason Ohio. Jeanne and Sheryl are already hard at work preparing an informative and fun seminar for you. A bit further down the road in October 2018 Ohio will be hosting the Great Lakes District Conference and the team is already working hard to make this the best district meeting ever.
In closing I again want to thank all of you for your support over the last 4 years. I hope and pray which ever holiday you celebrate during the fall and winter will be filled with joy and hope for the coming year.
